How come I always have to work on Veterans Day, and my wife, son and daughter get the day off? This is not fair!

Oh well, the recruiter never said I would have this day off or any day for that matter! That was a precursor to becoming a programmer! :)

Another reason I remember this day is that my mothers mother at age 24 passed away from the Spanish Influenza, leaving four children. Her brother passed away the week before also from the flu and left three children. The Spanish flu killed many around the world and like the war affected many families.

On a positive note my mother will be 89 one week from today! I hope to be as sharp as she is at her age!
