I think documenation is in separate ODBC documentation (ODBC.chm).
However I don't think you should know much about DSN. Instead you might use a Driver={Driver Name}, or create a file dsn (.dsn) and check it for your generic purposes.
For example I don't use SQLConnect but SQLStringConnect and specify my connection details in a string. Visit www.connectionstrings.com to see common connection strings.
