Many ways exist of making this, I have worked with two, one with a palm pilot with barcode reader , or a handheld. In both the software that uses the devices generates me a file txt, I read it through the serial port, using VFP, with a bookstore that I found in UT, once read the text file transforms it in a VFP Table.

The other one is entering the information directly in the application with a barcode reader writing the data into the dbf field.

The impression of labels is a very simple task. A report is generated as usual and the font is changed by one of barcode.
