I've been using the 3.2M Sony digital camera, it's great, but I'd love a better Optical Zoom, it is usefull when you are shotting to Panoramic escenarios, the Digital Zoom are not worthy (ignore it), always try to find out the better Optical Zoom.
So, my recomendation will be a 5.0 Mpixels with a 3X Optical Zoom, with $379 you can get a brand new Sony DSC-P92.
