Hi Leland,

Blackjack card counting systems are available in ANY bookstore. Trouble is, all of them require months or years of memorization and practice, most of them require you to be a mathematician, and few of them actually WORK. Casinos *LOVE* system players, especially those who are learning one of them (bg).

All successful professional blackjack players are experts at not only playing/betting/counting the cards, but disguizing their actions (and sometimes themselves) so they cannot be targeted and banned. This person you saw most likely made his capabilities and knowledge public, and attempted to teach/sell his "method" to anyone and everyone with enough cash. I regularly count six decks successfully -- this is NOT a major accomplishment for a regular player.

Being a successful gambler is kind of like being a successful spy -- the more people that know who you are, the less effective you can be at your craft.

>Yes, black jack is the game where cards are counted. I saw a TV special about a guy that could keep up with six decks of cards. Given enough time he would usually, not necessarily alway, win. He was band from every casino in Vegas. All he had to do was walk in a sit down at a table and he was immediately, and politely asked to leave. He was never given a reason why, but of course it was because the house was well aware of his incredible ability to count the deck. There is a special method used to do the counting which he seem to think anyone could master.
