many thanx for ur super quick reply. ur code was equally great.

but, i have a small problem here.

when i apply the code to gather data from outlook in vfp table, i get an error message, 'variable olFolderContacts is not found'.

if i initialize the olfoldercontacts as char, i get a datatype mismatch and if i assign it a logical value .t. or .f., it says, 'ole i despatch exception code 4096 from microsoft outlook. could not complete the operation. one or more parameter values are invalid.'

can u pl. tell me where am i going wrong?
