It looks like crystal reports is on its ways to BO ownership. A brilliant and successfull french-run company set-up by ex-oraclers with an aggressive selling strategy targetting oracle customer base (fortune 500 IT depts).

I would not expect the product to get leaner and simpler:(

Expect an insistance on the centralised server product with a more BO-like philosophy. Nothing against that. BO is a clever product but bad luck for those VFP developpers looking for a clean embeddable ocx with "one-shot licensing".

Alas it's not exactly the kind of marketing to suit our needs on the long run. I'd be glad to be wrong but i'd expect higher pricing à-la-oracle any time soon as well. Has the the tariffication already been reviewed?

My question: what is the next decent embeddable report writer with an acceptable licensing scheme for us to deliver with our dear vfp applications?

Possibly the VFP9 one or an alternate products (not that easy to find one that properly inter-operate with vfp).
