Dave,

Most report designers [including ActiveReports] allow for dropping of a graph control into the report area...but it's not completely integrated.

I've hand many instances where I needed to show the details of a bar graph/pie chart in a report format on the same page. Crystal allows me to do it with less pain than other solutions. [but believe me, there are many kludgy things about CR's designer that make me wonder about looking at other tools].
