Call AERROR() if SQLExec() returns an error result. I don't recall if filling the transaction log throws a specific error or not. It depends on the ODBC driver and the backend.

>yes, thanks for that. My one remaining question though, is what do I have to do to get meaningful error messages within Foxpro that might have pointed me in that direction earlier? It was only when I ran the cold fusion script that I began to get an inkling of what was going on.
