>>At last! An overhaul of the Report Designer! (picking self up off floor)

>Yes, and it will have ASELOBJ() hooks just like the form/class desinger. We are working on very cool builders written in VFP for the Europa report writer, and developers and 3rd party companies will be able to create their own or modify the ones we provide with source code. You will be able to access all the FRX info via a nice object interface at design-time just like the form/class designer has now for SCX/VCX tables. The hooks during runtime will be very detailed, meaning you will be able to hook into the events and report engine via VFP code while reports are running.

Wow! I am already looking forward to picking a copy up in Vegas at the DevCon! Tons of great improvements coming this way to keep this developer product on an excellent path!

I think my burning question with the new report designer surely must be ...

... Is the expression builder (specifically its expression field) going to be larger than the postage stamp size that it currently is?????? :-D I could never understand why the current expression box in the report expression dialogue was one line and the ... "expanded" expression builder was two lines?! .. talk about room to stretch out, eh?

I think its likely that most would agree that its hard to think up a reason as to why this is like this? Its really hard to build (or even just read) even just a moderately complicated expression in that tiny little box. ... its kinda like Shaq driving a Mini :-D

Best Regards,

Scott Barker
