It's an unsolved problem from months ago, needed primarily because Office97 is Unicode and VFP is not, so having a macro to do the inside job of conversion is the only way (OLE doesn't pass Unicode strings from VFP, because VFP sends them as single-byte strings, and of course, there's a null byte among the first three bytes, so it never does anything useful). This will enable automation of this conversion - so far I've had to click it myself. [ ...and GMRider added: ] I've found in my work that sometimes the only way (sanely) I can get some functionality is to invoke the macros. It's a pain to think like that (I feel VFP should be able to do ANYTHING), but it is fast and not difficult. Hoping for better integration and control of Office apps in the future...
