Gunnar, I completely agree with you, and in M.M.'s place I'd probably have wrapped the 'Go away' in the usual sequence of sentences acknowledging receipt, 'Sorry, we're not interested.' and good luck etc. pp. Takes just a few seconds at 250 cps, no need to hand this to the secretary because that would take longer. But in a sense that would have been a lie because it doesn't mean anything, while the brutal but honest response by M.M. at least might have had the potential to be helpful.
I prefer getting honest answers over polite ones.
