>through pushing MSDE as "MSDE is SQL Server" in their pitches disguised as conference sessions and at the same timme crapping all over VFP's 'native format'. These people are not MS employees and their deep-seated need to market SQL Server, especially at the expense of VFP, is questionable at best!

1. Well, MSDE IS SQL Server is not a lie. Each level of SQL Server has different features and functions.

2. Pointing out ways the SQL Server is superior to VFP isn't a disparagment of it, just the truth.

>I do, but mainly because they are talking to many people in these "sessions" and/or they have high esteem in THIS community.

These 'people' aren't doing sessions to market SQL or to disparage VFP, they are doing it to provide technical information and methodologies to solve business solutions.

When Doug Hennig markets SDT, and says, VFP's database doesn't hold enough info so I created this... is that disparaging VFP?

When all the framework vendors talk about the _FFC not being a complete business application framework, does that disparage VFP?

When 'people' show Crystal Reports and the features it has that VFP's report writer doesn't, is that disparaging VFP?

When 'people' demonstrate how to use ActiveBar or other ActiveX tools with VFP, cause it is better than native VFP, is that disparaging VFP?

My answer to all those questions is NO, it is providing information to VFP developers on options and methodologies they have at their disposal.

Of course, you are welcome to your feelings and opinions, you may answer all the above as yes.
