>That's what I was thinking the reason was. Albeit people deny here in UT that it's happening (think there was a thread about VFP MVPs leaving it...), many fellows already jumped out the ship (meanwhile many are still deciding). I wonder what VFP team folks are thinking about it: *we" are killing the Fox!

Hi Fernando,

I don't think the "*we* are killing the Fox" is true in any way, shape or form.
There is one person in UT who does have his knife out and is slashing wildly about, but mostly he is striking air and possibly the odd windmill.

We've had a few members who came right out and said that they needed work and weren't finding any, FP/VFP or otherwise. Maybe there are more like this out there, spending all time available looking for work or maybe doing a mcjob to meet the bills (so have little time for here). The economy is acknowledged to still be in need of improvement.

There is also the aspect that many still working are being forced to work longer hours to keep their jobs. Possibly with internet access being restricted too (non-productive and costly).

Finally, and most likely, there are probably many many VFP adherents who are using their spare time to learn .NET. .NET is acknowledged to have a steep learning curve. That takes TIME.

So no, I don't think that in ANY way we are killing ourselves. And I don't think we'll ever even come close to doing so because we have a vast field of potential users out there, far far wider than anything the 'big iron apps' can ever hope to have.

cheers
