Strange. Our Clavinova is of 1996 or 1997 and it writes true MIDI files. So they, Yamaha, probably made some major changes in one or two years.

>>Hi Tom,

>>I bought this program to convert MIDI to WAV files and works very well. I record a MIDI file to a 3.5" disk on Clavinova and then using the midi2wav utility convert it to .wav file. Then I burn the .wav file to a CD as an audio file. All works very well.

Or I can download any MIDI file from the web, copy it to a disk and play it in Clavinova. So that part I know it ok. What I have never done is converting a MIDI file to a WAV file for creating audio CD. I will let you know how my project goes.

That did not work so Brian suggested we use one of my windows machines to attempt to format the floppy. We then plugged in the newly formatted floppy into the Yahama box and it recognized the blank formatted disk! Good news! Now this is interesting and deserves some experimentation!

If the format is propriety and cannot be read all is not lost. I will simply plug in the Yahama box audio out into the computer sound card input. Then I will be able to save it in wav or any available format that my software is capable of.
