>ALL my bizness emails are ok for going public, in the sense that I always take care that I don't write things that could be compromising for me (I hope). You never know what the other party may do with it when the relationship worsens. Afterall, it is the internet decade and some simple googling ("stefan otto", "peter de valença") reveals much more than we 'dreamt' of 10 years ago.

Who is Stefan Otto?

Anyway, it is a well-known rule that "if you don't want it displayed in the company's bulletin board, don't put it into an e-mail", or something like that.

Snopes (www.snopes.com, they investigate the truth, or not, of many popular rumors) has some interesting examples (labelled "true") of people getting into very real trouble (getting fired, in many cases), by writing some very private stuff in an e-mail, that later went public. Example: http://www.snopes.com/risque/tattled/luxton.htm
Difference in opinions hath cost many millions of lives: for instance, whether flesh be bread, or bread be flesh; whether whistling be a vice or a virtue; whether it be better to kiss a post, or throw it into the fire... (from Gulliver's Travels)
