I am not sure if I understand your question. If I do, then you're asking how the clients connect to Terminal Server when they're dialing in...

One normal scenario works something like this:

* the dialup connection is just their normal internet connection. Whatever their internet provider is, the fact that it is dialup rather than broadband is irrelevant except for speed issues.

* the clients are using a VPN to the office network, and the dialup folks use whatever VPN protocol the broadband folks use.

* once they have access to the network resources via the VPN, they can use Terminal Server to use some applications that the network makes accessible that way. Of course they could also use the applications over the network in the normal manner, but TS is going to limit some of the network traffic that would otherwise occur (because it's going to force more of the activity to take place on the server side).

This is probably not a great explanation, again I'm not sure I understand the point of your question, so feel free to followup with more questions and I'll help if I can.

I am not an expert with this stuff, I just help out optimizing the heck out of the fox applications that are used in this context, just as I help out optimizing the heck out of fox applications in other contexts <s>.

I *can* tell you that we have a current client with quite a number of overseas sales personnel and many of them use dial-up to access the home office. I believe that all those guys are using TS for their access to some of the fox applications I help support. It's quite slow, I believe, but it is what they have -- and it does work assuming you're sufficiently motivated <s>. I believe that working on commission and having the ability to fill out a sales order is powerful motivation, so they deal with some speed issues if necessary <s>.
