I am responding to this as I guess my working life is a typical answer to the question. I have been a member of the UT since it started. I have worked with FoxPro since 2.5 and have been making a very good living with it. But time and technology changes us all. So now I am doing less VFP work and more work in the technologies in which I have been directed. That being Macromedia Dreamweaver/Cold Fusion and MS SQL Server. I have never stopped telling my superiors the value of FoxPro, but it seems I am the only one in my group who see the value in VFP. Even though time and time again I have shown them the cost benefit and that VFP is still being supported by MS, they would rather go with products that are being used by more NAVY installations and are more glamorous. So now I just maintain the VFP applications and develop in the new technologies that I have been mandated to do. So my presence on the UT is being reduced and I imagine the renewal of my UT membership will be turned down (maybe not in 2004, but I am sure by 2005). Over the years I have appreciated the UT and the FoxPro community for their willingness to help out those who ask. I also hope I find that same friendliness in the community of Cold Fusion and MS SQL Server developers. Well that is my story and my two cents, I think it is part of an answer to your question/observation.

>PS #2. If what I wrote above is effective, is there a reason for it?
