Yeah, just when you think a thread could turn out to be interesting, the views get too strong, and personal attacks are then issued, I agree with what you said about the above response, it sucks badly.

>It is frustrating to me, and I am making a huge assumption that others feel the same way. I may not have the knowledge and/or confidence that others have to actively respond. I do, however, go through this forum several times a day to help increase my knowledge and understanding of VFP and other technologies available.

I'm going to be brutally honest here, but from my view on this, I haven't yet see anyone prove JVP wrong on this thread, I may be wrong, but that is my view, what I HAVE seen, however, is people quick to say "Just shut-up and sit in the corner", and I'm thinking, if he's so much in the wrong, why can't you prove it? One thing I've also noticed is that it is NOT JVP starting the personal attacks, they come from others first - again, don't take my word for it, I may have missed something.

I may be completely wrong, but that's the way I see it, because JVP IS well-known in this community he is quickly discarded, unfairly. My opinion? Too many people here are biased. In the early stages of this thread a 10gb table was mentioned, first thing I would've said would've been "OK, you got me, in Fox I would have to a, b, c & d - that's not flexible, in SQL Server it's possible straight out of the box", it's only people who feel threatened that would resort to petty responses.

>Can't the two of them flame each other using private emails instead?

Maybe they do, as well as publicly!! :-)
