thnx but the prob is that the memo field contains the information before is has been changed by the user. so i can only print when the user has made his modifications to the edited text file. So i have to find a way to - add the info with set textmerge on from the memo field to the word document or if i continue the old way put the final text file in a word document.

so in fact i have 2 possible sollutions
1 get the final txt file in a word document using vfp.
or
2 instead of putting the memo in a text file, changing data in it with set textmerge on and let the user to de rest. i could do the same thing but putting my stuff direct to the word doc. The problem is, will set textmerge on work with word ?
