Here are some suggestions I ever read from other:
1. Limit the number of records for table, ex. sales
2. Retrieve system date while first run, encrypt and store it somewhere ex registry. Compare the value each time the application start.
I think the ideas above are framework independent. You could enhance MM systemsetting/bizobj class to do this.
