Fellow UTers,
I just read the article under latest headlines "Major vendors to push Linux to the desktop".
http://www.infoworld.com/article/03/11/24/46NNdesktop_1.htmlThere is no doubt the Linux desktop is coming fast and strong! This is a HUGE new market for a desktop database development tool and consulting. So I am wondering since MS isn't going to do it who's going to fill the demand for a Linux database development product?
Remember the days when MS wasn't such a big greedy monopoly and VFP was cross-platform? If ever there was an ideal opportunity for MS to expand VFP in a market that didn't directly compete with it's beloved, bet-the-company .NET this is it!
Oh ya, I keep forgetting MS doesn't want anyone else to know about VFP because it's too self-sufficient and it doesn't make them enough money. Well regardless the company that puts it out, I'll be first in line to get my hands on it.
Happy Thanksgiving!
