Hi John,

There is one other thing I forgot to mention. RedHat 9.0 keeps all its binaries in directories that are part of its default path statement I'm not sure whether SuSE Linux also uses something similar to RH or not. I renamed all the java binaries in the /usr/bin directory to force RH 9.0 to use the binaries in the bin directory off the main Java tree. The files I renamed were:

/usr/bin/java
/usr/bin/javac
/usr/bin/javah
