also try to hack the hosts file in the windows\system32\drivers\etc
open it in notepad and add the entries for the site u want to block

eg:
127.0.0.1 localhost
127.0.0.1 < url of website u want to block

so when the browser looks up for the address it is redirected to the local host and will be blocked.
