Ah, but if you are paying for every other facet of the conference with the $80 a room kickback < bg >
I know we have always been able to negotiate a very good room rate for VFE devcon in Vegas - should never run more than $80 a night and for a conference the size of Advisor Devcon (even at today's adjusted sizes) you could get a better rate than that at Paris or Mirage which are both easily capable of handling big conferences.
And having a hotel ten miles off the strip really defeats the whole purpose of having the conference in Las Vegas.

>>FYI, Ken clarified earlier in the thread that $239 would not be the conference attendee rate. It would be $159.

>Even that is ridiculous for LV. I was at Comdex last week and paid $79 a night for the Luxor hotel, which was very nice. One of the benefits for having a conference in LV is that it's cheaper than other resorts, yet this rate is pretty much what we've been paying for years in places like Palm Springs and Ft. Lauderdale.

Though a good deal is too strange to be believed, nothing is too strange to have happened.
- Thomas Hardy
Half the harm that is done in this world is due to people who want to feel important. They don't mean to do harm-- but the harm does not interest them. Or they do not see it, or they justify it because they are absorbed in the endless struggle to think well of themselves.
-- T. S. Eliot
Democracy is two wolves and a sheep voting on what to have for lunch.
Liberty is a well-armed sheep contesting the vote.
