I think you can set the ToolTipText of each TextBox (or other control) within the grid. I haven't tried this within a grid, though.

You could change all the ToolTipTexts regularly; at least when you change to another record.

You could also change the ToolTipText of an individual TextBox, for instance, in the MouseMove event.

An alternative to ToolTipText is the StatusBarText, which shows in the Status Bar. This might be less intrusive.

(One practical problem with the ToolTipText is to show it only when it doesn't fit - this seems complicated.)
