Although you have already decided to use another solution, this still interests me.

I believe you must have set the property in the Property Sheet, and VFP took it to be a literal value.

In this case, you can force VFP to evaluate an expression with the "=" sign, for instance, setting the property to =Table.Field.

For the present case, setting the property in the Property Sheet is impractical (except perhaps for initial testing), since you will have to update the ToolTipText every time you move the record pointer.
