Sometimes, some of the defaults can be changed in the printer, so that, at startup, the printer has different values.

10 is standard, in dot-matrix printers. In dot-matrix printers, this requires changing two settings: condensed = off, and selecting a base size of pica vs. elite - I don't remember which of the two is the correct option.

My download #9991, "print reports in text-mode", includes #DEFINE statements for some common printer codes, but only for the common (at least, common hear in South America) Epson dot-matrix printers.
