I was wondering if using the 'm.' identifier to reference a variable each time is a good practice ?

I always code things like

lcVar = m.lcVar + alias.fieldname
IF m.llVar
ENDIF

Anybody knows some good articles I could read ? Am I worrying too much ? <s>
