So far, this has been my experience with every upgrade, so I don't think it's unique your machine.

I'm not sure whether there is some characteristic of VS.NET that forces this, but one reason for it could be the potential addition or removal of control classes from the framework, where re-adding the controls keeps you in synch with MM.NET.
