This sound that crashes is more bass, hum sort of sound, that crashed through the roof of the VU meter. Also as compared to W98 which has an already specified line-in volume (I remember I never had to do anything about line-in it was always just right), w2k on the other hand has 2 volumnes for line-in one for recording purpose and the other for playback purpose, I have the playback sound around 2.5 notches high but the recording volume is barely there any higher and other sounds also start crashing.

Any way I can match the volumes with W98?
Regards
