Dean,
I just started catching up on UT messages after a bit of an abscense. Craig Berntson mentioned a free C# editor. Actually, there is a free, open source C# IDE called SharpDevelop.
http://www.icsharpcode.net/opensource/sd/The same developers have a free compression library written in C# (sharpzip) and have written a book that takes you through the process of writing a full c# application that is based on their experience with writing SharpDevelop.
If you actually start using SharpDevelop, it would be nice to pick up a copy of the book to help support their development.
regards,
Jim Erwin
