My Problem

I've got a dynamicaly built shortcut menu that can have a fair amount of hierarchy. (so there are possibly a number of levels of submenus). Sometimes when the user accesses the shortcut near the right edge of the screen, the first submenu will popup to the left of the main shortcut, and when you select a submenu from there the thrid tier menu shows up to the right of the main shortcut. THus when you try to bring the mouse over to the thrid tier it passes over the main shortcut and all the submenu's go away as it things you want a different menu bar from the main shortcut.

(Here is an illustration of what it looks like)

SubItem Main Item -->
SubItem Main Item
SubItem ->> Main Item SubsubItem
Main Item SubSubItem

My Question

Is there some way to control what side the sub menu's appear on or where they appear? I'm not much of a whizz with menu code and didn't write the code that generates the dynamic shortcut.

If you cannot control the positioning, (as seems to be the case from my research) is there some clever way of making sure the shortcut dosn't appear in a position where this will happen. (If you simply click in a different part of the window this dosn't happen.)

Thanks for your attention and advice,
