I was finishing high school at the time. I was reading foreign politics regularly, because it was easier to talk about that than to learn the myriad facts the professor wanted us to learn in geography curriculum. She was pleased to listen (so she didn't question me about the stuff I didn't really learn), and I was pleased with the end result :).
