Alan,
>The form that I am creating is a very simple one (for a Customer Types list). It has one business object on it, and it returns the entire list when the form opens. I looked at the dev guide and noticed that I was looking at the section regarding the child data grid (order detail). Sorry for the confusion. I have since removed the reference in my code to the btnNew_click event so it should revert back to the parent class. However, the record pointer still does not move to the new record when I click the new button. I hope that helps clear up my situation.
Did you follow the instructions in the MM .NET Dev Guide topic "Creating a Maintenance Form"? Did you specify the DataGrid as the form's navigation control?
