You were absolutely correct.
I got rid of all of the temporary files which were used to install VFP 8.0 and also removed any files I had previously copied to the \windows\system32 folder.
The only files remaining were those put there by the installation into as in the following path/folder:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\VFP
It seems that when I installed Service Pack 1 for VFP 8.0, the isntallation process copied in new files, but since I didn't copy those new files into the same areas as I had before and I also did not remove the temporary folder where the installation was placed to run, the problems surfaced preventing the VFP 8.0 Executable(s) from running. It was obviously confused as to which DLL's to go to in order to work.
All is working just fine now.
