I personally use Acrobat Distiller, but the client wanted to be able to generate pdf's from 30-40 work stations and Acrobat would have been too expensive. I evaluated Fineprint, liked its features (it fit their needs) and recommended it. This was a couple years ago, so I don't remember too much about it.
You can download a fully functional copy of the program from their web site to see if it meets your needs. I don't believe it has an expiration date. They put a disclaimer at the bottom of all generated reports until you pay for and register it.
