>>Almost every time I talk software to people if I mention Foxpro they've never heard of it.
Hmmm... reminds me of some of the 'home theater' companies web sites I've read. One talked about the brands of equipment that they used. They basically said, the average person wouldn't be familiar with the brands cause the brands they used are 'specialized' and 'high end' built for the specific purpose.
So, when someone asks what tool you use...
Dev: Visual FoxPro
Customer: Oh, I never heard of that.
Dev: Well, I am not surprised. Visual FoxPro is a more specialized tool for the kind of work we do. We also have many components created for it already that allows us to give you a greater value for your money. For example, we have data driven menus, auditing, file maintenance, backup/restore, etc. All that comes built into our VFP framework which we build all apps with.
Customer: I see, well, that make sense.
Dev: If you do prefer us to use a certain tool or language, we can do that, but it will take us more time to create certain features, etc.
