I'm still new to SQL2000.

Just uploaded a hundred vfp records to a small SQL2k database.

It works. To prove it, I can download them to a cursor and read all the data.
What I can't seem to do is read that same data with Enterprise Manager, or at least, not all of it.

Specifically one of the fields is a memo field. On average the field has about a 1000 characters. When I browse the damn records on Enterprise Manager, it refuses to display the content of the memo for apparently arbitrary records.

Most Records are displaying the content correctly, but about 20% don't. And they're no longer or shorter (on average) than the ones on display. The only possible explanation I can think of is that there must be some hidden control character within the content which is preventing display. There are certainly no visible characters in the memos which don't display which do not occur in the ones which do.

Anyone got any ideas what I (or anything else) might be doing wrong?

And while we're on the subject of Enterprise Manager and Memo fields, Editing a character, numeric or date field is simple enough, click into the cell and edit. But how do we edit a "text" field where SQL stores its memo data? All I get is a message saying I can't edit this cell. Useful. (Is this connected with, or a clue to, the previous problem?)
