I'm in the process of upgrading several in-house apps from FPW 2.5 to VFP 5.0. I want to place the tables in DBCs for each app. Later, all tables will be moved to SQL Server. The problem/question is. During the transition from FPW 2.5 to VFP 5.0, there are several global tables that all applications need to update. Can I place the global tables in a global DBC,( accept the warning message about upgrading the tables, go back and copy the tables with TYPE FOX2X (replacing hte originals)) and access the tables from the apps. I have tested it a little and it appears to work. I know that VFP index types, and RI will not be accessable for the FOX2X tables. But will it work without causing problems.
