Another common Word in English is algorithm.

The Spanish language has several more, which usually start with "al". It seems that "al" is simply the article ("the") in Arabic. Spain was under Arabic dominion sometime in the past.

Some examples of these words, which I believe are from Arabic origin, are:

algebra (algebra)
almohada (cushion)
alfombra (rug)
almidón (starch)
