Hi Sergey

Very well. I was wrong.

I should either have said nothing, or made it absolutely clear from the start that I was talking about a different way of handling a return value.

What else can I say?

It shows that you either misread or misunderstand original question because return valie of stored procedure cannot be retrieved the way you suggested. Maybe you meant to offer alternative but it didn't came out this way. Playing offended doesn't change the fact than you where wrong and don't want to admit that.
