>Yaaaawwwwn. "CDS wanted to replace Visual FoxPro with a recognized and widely accepted platform...." blah blah blah.

>Why do you yawn and greet this with "blah, blah, blah"?

Because about once a week I read a 'foxpro is gonna die - the sky is falling - foxpro is dieing - the sky is falling' out here. Fortunately I find it more amusing that annoying.

>Perhaps Ken Levy could get something in an MSDN Flash someday that actually has something POSITIVE to say about Visual Foxpro.

>Given the case study that was just published, do you think that is likely? You really cannot reconcile a positive message with the message in this case study - that VFP is not recognized/acceptable platform for app development. The positive spin I suppose is that this article dealt with a web app. One could argue that the app were to remain a desktop app - in the traditional sense - VFP would have been the appropriate choice. But - do you think you are going to hear that message from MS? I don't think you will.

>Thing is though what is said here is true. .NET is more 'recognized' and definatly more widely accepted. Question is what to do about it. My solution is to learn .net...hahaha

>Yep - that would be a good idea....

Yes and evenutaly it'll be a good idea to learn something besides .NET when the next thing comes out. Hey you gotta stay with the times!
