Yeah I've noticed this and it gets me everytime, even made me re-evaluate the way I say it, which is, of course, couldn't care less.
Think about it:
Could care less - means you care a little, but could care even less
Couldn't care less - you care so little that it's not possible to care even less
I know, logically, which one I prefer.

>Have you noticed how even well-educated people use the phrase "...could care less..." or "...could have cared less..." when what they really mean is "...couldn't care less..." and "...couldn't have cared less..." all the time? I hear it from newscasters, entertainment personalities and yes, even from people here who love to argue the fine points of a discussion. Do a search for these exact phrases in the archives and you might be surprised at the results. Or, then again, maybe you couldn't care less... :-)
