Hi Greg,
The response from Rhodri will give you the syntax for @ GET ... PICTURE VALID:
I am an old Dbase/Clipper/Foxbase/FoxPro 2.6 programmer from way back and the hardest thing I had to come to grips when using VFP was "you do not use @ GET ... PICTURE in VFP". I battled that with my screen conversions and even more on all my reports.
My suggestion to you is to use the ideas in your 2.6 screens to create new forms or your programs will never look like windows nor function the way you want in windows.
As for reports - to me it is still many times easier to generate difficult reports in 2.6 than it is in VFP but you HAVE to learn to use the report writer. Using @ GET ... PICTURE and "set device to print" in VFP will give totally unsatisfactory results. With the report writer you will have full control over the look of the report. It's the data or lack of that gives grief with VFP report writer.
Good luck on the conversion.
Bruce
