How to determine X,Y of grid for DynamicBackColor

I had already looked at them, but they appear to be not functional for the dymamic settings...at least as far as I can tell.
Strange thing is, when I set the DynamicBackColor to a method with "this" being sent as a parameter, the "this" object refers only to the grid and not each control, although it get fired for each cell and I dont see any property referring to the cell which is being affected.
Am I missing something?
