When there are so many eligible files then ADIR() will exceed the array element limit (about 65k cells). Have a look at the image file names to find an easy way of slicing the bunch into smaller portions via suitable search specs, for example "a*.tif", "b*.tif" and so on.

If you need to work on all filenames in one large batch then you could transfer the intermediate ADIR() results to a cursor.
