Sorry (too busy fingers! <g>) left off the "s". Yes, I am using "Documents"

got to the point of finding the works and will return a name but no loading function even though it returns an object reference. Using your book too!! <g> but still can't get the .doc to load. I'll try on a different .doc but since it loads through word, I didn't expect any trouble with loading.

Just trying to make a faxable document that needs to insert (find/replace) about 10 fields. Since it is not data that will have to be repeated multiple times, I envision using find/replace rather than mailMerge.

Egg on my face - I just tried loading another document and that worked. I have been so focused on starting to learn word automation that I figured I was doing something wrong with the commands or the setup was wrong. Any ideas what might keep a document from loading properly if I can load/save it in Word itself?
