OK, so it's the joke telling day...

Once upon a time the engineers in Zastava visited Toyota to see how do they achieve the quality. The test which most impressed them was when the Japanese would put a cat in the trunk overnight. In the morning, if cat was still breathing, the trunk wasn't airtight - back to the assembly line.
Upon returning home, the chief engineer said: "We have decided to apply the Japanese technology, albeit with a slight modification: we'll put a cat into a Yugo overnight. In the morning, if the cat is still there, the car passed, if not, back to assembly line."

Not sure this is a Russian joke - I've heard it at home, about USSR... maybe the present Russians can confirm if they heard it too.
