Hi John!

If MS announced in '95 that Windows95 was going to be supported until 2002, would you have developed apps for Windows? Or maybe you would have chosen OS2.
As I understand, VFP8 will be supported until 2010. I believe that Ken Levy mentioned that there is going to be a VFP9 and a VFP10, for which the support period has not been announced yet, as obviously the products themselvees have not been released yet. As far as support for Longhorn, what's foresen now is support for VFP apps integration through COM Interop. And I also believe that there are a whole slew of products that rely, and will rely on that. Should we give up the flexibility of VFP for developing platform independent apps (coffee maker included:)) in .NET? If we need them, then maybe we should look at the whole picture, Java included (somehow this name goes better with the coffee maker).

BTW, for success stories, I am sure I can find some links to succesful re-writes of apps from Windows to Linux. Lots of them.
